If you look at Planetboredom.net, you can see it is just a set of links to videos - no magic here. But there are four things that they are doing well:

• They are choosing compelling videos.
  
  
• The home page gives you lots of options. You are probably going to find smething interesting to you very quickly.
  
  
• They are updating regularly.
  
  
• They are making very good use of the advertising space on individual pages for each video.

Anyone could create a site like this. That is not to say it is easy - finding compelling links every day is not trivial. But there is no barrier to entry here.
